Neil Middleton Architects work on projects across Scotland from our office in the old town of Edinburgh. Our designs are purposeful, thoughtful and considered. We have a friendly and collaborative approach to our work and really enjoy working with and learning from clients, consultants, and contractors during the design process.

We think carefully about each project and our process involves working with digital collages and physical models to think creatively about materials, light and space. We find this helps us to communicate our ideas to clients.

Our architecture is direct and simple with a focus on natural light and connections to the outside. We often try to draw out the qualities of an existing situation to create spaces and buildings with character, that are rooted in their location.

We approach projects with sustainability in mind and recognise that as designers we have a responsibility to make a difference through our

projects.

We particulary enjoy working with home owners on bespoke extensions and thoughtful alterations. One of our strengths is considering how to improve the layout and efficiency of a house to ensure it is realising its full potential.

We also have experience working with commercial clients, and on listed buildings. We are currently enjoying working with an ambitious developer to transform a large, victorian care home into multiple flats.
