Dr Srinivas (Sri) Gada has been practising as a Consultant Paediatrician in Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Neurodisability.
He has practiced in the NHS in the UK, for nearly 25 years (Since 1995). Dr Sri specialises in assessment and management of children with Autism/ASD, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Developmental Delay, Learning Disability, Emotional & Behavioural Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, children with schooling difficulties and syndromic disorders such as Down Syndrome.
Dr Sri graduated in India coming First in the 2nd Year and Final Year of Medicine, at his University. While working at Leicester Royal Infirmary, he gained DCH and MRCP qualifications (1996-99). Sri then worked at Queen’s Hospital and Royal London Hospital, training to be an Intensivist (1999-2000). During this specialist training, his daughter was diagnosed with a disability.
This personal experience stimulated his interest in pursuing Childhood Neurodisability as a career. Subsequently, he went on to receive training in Child Neuro-Developmental Disorders at Royal Free Hospital in London (2001-05).
Dr Sri then worked as Consultant Community Paediatrician with an interest in Neurodisability at Oxford University Hospitals NHS FT, for over 13 years (2005-2019). He has been a Hon Senior Clinical Lecturer in Paediatrics at University of Oxford, since 2007. Sri has served in NHS in various roles such as Consultant Appraiser, Clinical Governance Lead, Educational Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor and RCPCH AAC Rep.
Dr Sri takes an active interest in teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates. He has been a Course Director for Child Developmental Courses in Oxford, London and Abroad. Sri is the Editor of Oxford Specialist Handbook in Community Paediatrics, published by Oxford University Press. This handbook, with emphasis on Neurodevelopment and Neurodisability, is widely used by doctors in UK, Europe and is sold worldwide.
