Established in 1993 Hillside Day Nursery is one of the longest serving nurseries in Kingswood. We operate from two homely sites in Kingswood – Hillside Day Nursery Potterswood is located at the back of John Cabot Academy on Woodside Road. This site takes a maximum of 33 children per day allowing for a calm and nurturing environment. We were rated Good in our most recent Ofsted inspection.
All of our staff are:
At least Level 3 qualified
Hold Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Hold Level 2 Food Hygiene
Are appropriately trained in Safeguarding Children.
We have recently implemented the Anna Ephgrave In The Moment Planning approach to ensure each child’s learning is supported and extended in the moment and no learning opportunities are lost or missed. We especially love loose parts play!
We use Tapestry an online Learning Diary that you can access at any time where we document your child’s learning and development.
Once a week the Pre School children take part in a Forest School session in our private woodland at our Potterswood site lead by our level 3 qualified Forest School Leaders.
The nursery has separate baby, toddler and pre school facilities.
We offer the following free sessions:
15 hours per week for eligible two years olds which can be taken as 15 hours per week term time only or 11.1 hours per week for 51 weeks of the year.
15 hours per week universal funding for all three and four year olds which can be taken as 15 hours per week term time only or 11.1 hours per week for 51 weeks of the year.
30 hours per week funding (15 hours universal funding and 15 hours extended funding) for eligible three and four year olds which can be taken as 30 hours term time only or 22.3 hours per week for 51 weeks of the year.
All our meals are catered on site by our catering officer. Our kitchen holds the five stars award from South Gloucestershire Environmental Health.
